The Nordics and Latin America: Sustainable Mining
The 2nd annual conference "The Nordics and Latin America: Sustainable Mining" will take place on October 15-16, 2025 in Luleå University of Technology, located in Luleå, Sweden.
​
The topic of the conference is mining decarbonization from the perspective of mining operators of nordic countries and Latin America. Technologies such as electrification of surface and underground mines, green hydrogen mining developments, sustainable mining and circular economy are part of the agenda.
​
Tickets include a site visit to Boliden's Aitik mine, Sweden's largest open pit copper mine on October 14, 2025. In addition, a visit to HYBRIT, the world's first pilot-scale plant using green hydrogen for iron ore reduction, a key development for fossil-free steel production worldwide on October 13, 2025. Transport included by private bus for delegates.
